Get answers to common questions about Butt Strip Wax.
Trim to about a quarter inch of hair length; arrive clean and free of lotions. Avoid retinol or strong exfoliants 48 hours prior. Hydrate and wear loose clothing. A quick consultation and patch test will ensure a comfortable, safe appointment.
Sensation varies by person; you may feel brief moderate discomfort as hair is removed. Most clients report quick, intense pulls lasting seconds per strip. Any redness or tenderness typically subsides within a few hours to 48 hours with proper aftercare.
Typical regrowth returns in four to six weeks depending on hair growth. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and thin hair over time. We recommend scheduling every four to eight weeks to maintain smooth results and reduce discomfort at each appointment.
Certain conditions like active skin infections, open wounds, severe hemorrhoids, recent surgery near the area, or current use of isotretinoin may preclude waxing. Inform us of medications and skin history; a consultation will determine if waxing is safe for you.
Avoid hot baths, saunas, and intense workouts for 24 to 48 hours. Keep the area clean and wear breathable, loose clothing. After 48 hours gently exfoliate to prevent ingrown hairs, and apply soothing aloe or antiseptic products if needed.
If you've recently shaved, wait until hair is about a quarter inch long for the wax to grip. Previous waxing is fine and often improves results. Tell your technician about prior hair removal methods or reactions before service.
