Get answers to common questions about Half Back Wax.
Arrive with clean, dry skin and avoid heavy lotions or oils on your back. Hair should be about a quarter-inch long, roughly two to three weeks of growth. Skip tanning and exfoliation right before your appointment.
Some discomfort is normal, especially on first waxing sessions, but pain is brief. We use professional waxes and calming techniques to minimize sensation. Cooling and aftercare reduce irritation; regular waxing usually feels progressively less painful over time.
Results typically last three to six weeks depending on your hair growth cycle and hormones. With regular waxing, hair often grows back finer and sparser, extending smoothness between appointments. Schedule maintenance every four to six weeks for best results.
Ideally hair should be about a quarter-inch to three-quarters-inch long so the wax can grip follicles. If hair is too short we may ask you to wait; if it's very long we'll trim slightly for comfort.
Avoid hot baths, saunas, and vigorous exercise for 24 to 48 hours to prevent irritation. Apply soothing aloe or recommended lotions, exfoliate gently after 72 hours, and wear breathable clothing. Contact us if prolonged redness, swelling, or bumps occur.
Yes. Avoid waxing if you have sunburn, open wounds, active acne, recent chemical peels, or are taking certain retinoids or blood-thinning medications. Inform your esthetician about skin conditions, medications, or recent procedures so we can assess safety and adjust treatment.
